Reflecting and rebounding from the inside out,
an abundance of beauty that causes no doubt.
From the first glance I notice it's value outward
but one step closer, and I realize it's all been unheard.
Not one can measure it's thick or it's thin,
sort of like how no one can contain the wind.
It catches my attention like a long-winded sigh
and I long to gaze if only to find
a new found knowledge or wisdom or fact
but I'm rarely contented, I soon just react.
I comprehend, not many understand this glorified thing,
only few can grasp it's eternal beauty.
Through it, like a crystal, I can see the world's true design
from a maker so sure that He must be divine.
As I look in it's regions I'll forever see,
His devotion to me, like a fish to the sea.
This thing holds His truths, His favor, His glory unknown;
He then gives all freely to each His chosen, foreknown.
A diamond I hold, it's rarity beheld,
in front for us all, all facets it melds
into one special gift, the gift of His grace
and so deeply it holds the sight of His face.
The more that I focus on the prize undeserved,
the more I will find that my place was reserved.
The gift of His word I found deep in my soul,
He placed it there so long, long ago.
From nothing to all came the gift of His life
and with it a choice to end all my strife.
Wisdom I ask now, knowledge I still seek,
a Holy diamond smith longs to fill me to peak.
A diamond He was, a ruby He became,
when the blood of my sins was washed clean in
His name.
